'Mandala' is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning sacred circle. Mandalas are
found all over the world, but are seen primarily in Buddhist, Hindu and Native
American tradition and art. Mandalas are complex artistic and geometric designs
created inside a circle representing the cosmos. The artform is used in spiritual,
meditative, or healing practices.
The mandalas on these pages were received in meditative states of consciousness.
